Café Gumpfer in Sassnitz

Nice little cafe with a great view of the sea. Very good generous breakfast for a fair price.

Were here for breakfast, very tasty and varied, breakfast for 2 for just under € 20. Great cakes, large selection. Very friendly. It's a shame, they have to close on Monday too. Definitely recommendable.

Before I mention the negative points, first the positive: great location, great view, ingenious architecture of the building, nice staff and an excellent cake and cake buffet! However, the operator seems to be driving the restaurant to absolute wear: the artificial leather of the chairs was extremely scuffed and the sanitary facilities were very dirty and partly defective - the washbasin was cracked and broken several times, the urinal was full to the limit, the floor was wet and dirty and I want to go on the toilet seat do not have to put. There is urgent need to invest and work on hygiene (visit: October 23, 2020).

Excellent service, and a sensational breakfast. I spent a week in July 2020 in Sassnitz where we happened to discover this cafeteria. In addition to the cakes that were wonderful and an incredible range of flavors at your disposal. I highly recommend it. I have no negative points to comment.

The cake and latte were excellent. Just dealing with the Corona rule was too easy. More attention should be paid to how guests behave.

Very nice and attentive staff. We had an Admirals breakfast for two for just under € 20. With 2 additional rolls it was really rich and the ingredients were all fresh. Gladly again.

Super delicious cakes but horrific prices. € 3.40 for a piece of cake. The selection wasn't as much as at other locations in the chain, but sufficient (about 7 cakes when we were there). The service is very friendly and you can also take it with you. The cakes taste very good, are individual and there is something for everyone. Personally, € 3.40 for a normal sized piece is simply too expensive.

Everything great! Very large selection of cakes and tarts. We had peach and cheese cream and apple pie, both very tasty. View to the Baltic Sea. Very nice staff. Card payment is possible.

Actually leaves nothing to be desired. You can have breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, or just relax with an ice cream and look over the Baltic Sea and let your mind wander. The staff is very accommodating and nice and the cafe is very clean and inviting!

Unfortunately I only drank one cappuccino. Hadn't seen the cakes and that we were still full from breakfast, we didn't eat anything. We'll catch up on that. The cappuccino was very good. We were served nicely.

We have been here several times with this well-coordinated work team from Gumpfer and we are always totally enthusiastic. It is delicious, prepared with love and professionalism and therefore recommendable! You don't look at the price here, if it is too expensive you should eat at home yourself. So everything is perfect and keep it up!

For our wedding we were looking for a bakery or a pastry shop. The Café Gumpfer was suggested to us by a recommendation. I sent a photo of our dream cake to the café by email, and details were discussed in the subsequent phone call. Since we had a long way to go, we couldn't just try it beforehand, but still just ordered. When we all saw the cake for the first time, we were overwhelmed by the beauty. It was implemented exactly the way we wanted it and the taste couldn't have been better. Everyone was very enthusiastic and for us it remains a taste experience. To this day we have always enjoyed being here delicious cakes staff nice and the great view of the Baltic Sea ❤️ Today, however, we were very rudely advised by the staff that they would not serve us because our boys had put their drinking bottles on the table. For me, the way we were treated was awesome. You could have said it in a friendly way, well we left our money in the next coffee shop where we were served very friendly where the waiters also know what please and thank you mean. We will not leave our money with you in the future either.

We went here for breakfast this morning and loved it. The breakfast was delicious, the coffee tastes great. I can only praise the service. Friendly and nice. Everything was lovingly arranged. And of course the view is terrific.

The café is very nicely located at the port of Sassnitz. Regardless of whether you are sitting inside or outside on the terrace, you have a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. The selection of cakes is also very good.

We recommend! Great views of the ocean, the cakes are wonderful, and the coffees and tea were also very good. Very friendly staff! Worth one or even several visits !!!

Highly recommended ..... we like to have breakfast here, what you can do at any time of the day in the Gumpfer .... Definitely an extra point ... and honestly with the view and cakes, whoever blames it does not stop here ❤️

I don't like cake that much. But man, this was the best cake I ever had. By far! It was great! The hot white chocolate with Baileys was also very, very good. We'll come here again in a couple of days, something I never had done for a cake place.

Food is just ok but the view is stunning.

Great coffee, cakes, view and service

At Café Gumpfer, you can have a quick meal or stop by mid-afternoon for a warm drink and something sweet. Everything is well presented with good service. The selection of cakes is up to the most demanding customer and the coffees and teas present some creative twist, such as - for example - hot white chocolate with a shot of espresso... delightful. The ambience is pleasant and the view of the Baltic is hard to beat, thanks to Gumpfer's prime location at the very beginning of Europe second-longest outlying pier, which also doubles as a lovely promenade.

Nice place with very nice pastry! The cakes are really great! Service staff speak basically no English and also had problems explaining the bill and that he didn't remember what we had ordered even though it was "coffee and cappuccino", which should maybe not be too difficult to grasp even though not English speaking. The staff did not make much effort in trying to solve the small situation either, so we had to get it all translated by another person. Unnecessary confusion. But generally, everything else was great!

Alright cafe. A bit expensive though.
